MH17 tribunal to be considered by Security Council in defiance of Russia's veto, - Foreign Ministry

The Russian Federation can not be presently made responsible under the Hague Tribunal for the MH17 catastrophe.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was annonced by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine for European Integration Olena Zerkal in the course of the Ukraina Ponad Use (Ukraine above all) TV show on the air of the 5 Channel.

"Taking into account the positions of all countries in the UN Security Council, the issue will be considered in the Security Council. Despite Russia's non-constructive position, the possibility of establishing such a tribunal is still there," the diplomat says.

According to her, it will be rather difficult to apply the Hague Tribunal mechanism: "We must understand that neither Russia, nor Ukraine, nor Malaysia are the subjects of the Hague International Court. Therefore, this mechanism can not be applied. As for the Russia's blocking of the decision in the Security Council, it can't block the issue in general, but only now. Still, we can pick it up again when the final report of the joint investigation team is released," Zerkal says.
