 Acting consul general of Russian Federation in Odesa declared persona non grata and expelled from Ukraine, - SBU

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, basing on materials by the Security Service of Ukraine, declared acting Consul General of the Russian Federation in Odesa persona non grata.

This was announced by the SBU press service, Censor.NET reports.

"According to article 23 of the Vienna convention on diplomatic relations, Foreign Ministry of Ukraine presented a note to the Russian party with a request to acting consul general of the Russian Federation in Odesa to immediately leave the territory of our country," the message reads.

As announced by the SBU head Vasyl Hrytsak, the decision was based on inconsistency of the consul's activities with diplomacy, and due to violation of provisions of the above mentioned convention.

Hrytsak assured that the SBU continues to reveal foreigners who act against Ukraine covering themselves with their status.
