 Poroshenko and Nuland talked over Minsk agreements implementation

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland, who is on her visit to Ukraine.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the presidential press service.

Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude for the support and assistance from the United States in protecting and restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The head of state stressed that Ukraine was performing the Minsk agreements consistently and was doing everything possible for their proper implementation. He expressed hope that the U.S. would continue contributing to the de-escalation of the situation in the Donbas, as well as addressing such pressing issues as complete cease-fire by the militants, withdrawal of heavy weapons, proper international monitoring, release of all hostages, including Ukrainian citizens illegally held in Russia, and free access of the international humanitarian aid to the affected regions.

Petro Poroshenko and Victoria Nuland discussed progress of the constitutional reform in Ukraine in terms of decentralization. The assistant secretary of state congratulated the president of Ukraine on the successful vote of the Verkhovna Rada for sending the bill to amend the Constitution as to decentralization of power to the Constitutional Court.

Victoria Nuland confirmed that the United States supported Ukraine's approaches to addressing the situation in the Donbas and continued working effectively for consistent and complete implementation of the Minsk agreements and providing required assistance.
