 Prosecutor of Odesa district detained for bribe-taking released on bail of 1,200,000 hryvnia

Senior prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Suvorov district of Odesa, who was detained receiving $5,000 bribe, was released from custody on 1,200,000 hryvnia (over $50,000) bail.

The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Southern region told UNIAN that the suspect was earlier put to remand prison by the court with the right to post bail, Censor.NET reports.

The Prosecutor's Office explained that, according to the Part 2 of the Article 182 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, the bail may be posted either by the suspect or the other person or entity.

The press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Odesa region stated that the person was ousted from post for the duration of the official investigation conducted by the regional Prosecutor's Office.

"All the materials of the investigation have been submitted today. The order on her dismissal from the Odesa region Prosecutor's Office for committing a shameful act is prepared the same day," the regional Prosecutor's Office stated.
