 Hroisman signs law on national police

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Hroisman signed the law on the national police (No. 2822).

According to the Verkhovna Rada website, the law was passed to the president for signature on Tuesday, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

As reported earlier, the law on national police was passed on July 2. On July 14, the Verkhovna Rada did not support the draft resolution on cancellation of its decision on passing the law on national police.

The law enters into force three months after the date following the day of its publication with exception of certain provisions. The part of the law concerning patrol police units in Kyiv comes into force on the day of its publication. The part of the law concerning patrol police units in Odesa and Lviv comes into force on Aug. 20, 2015.
