 Corrupt prosecutor Shapakin released on bail, - Prosecutor's Office

First Deputy Head of the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office Volodymyr Shapakin has been released from the temporary detention facility on bail of 3.2 million hryvnias ($139,000).

This was announced to Ukrinform by the Head of the PGO General Inspection Iryna Didenko, Censor.NET reports.

"First Deputy Head of the Main Investigation Department has just been released from the temporary detention facility on bail", Didenko said.

At the same time, she stressed the two others arrested for bribery - the Deputy Prosecutor of the Kyiv region Oleksandr Korniiets and another civilian in this case - are still in the temporary detention facility.

Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov commented on the event on his Facebook page: "The prosecutor-grafter Volodymyr Shapakin has been released on bail at 3.2 million hryvnias until the investigation ends. He has a five-room apartment on Lvivska square and about 40 lockboxes. He also possesses a house in Konotop and a hectare of land. His accomplice Korniiets is in the temporary detention facility - he has not posted the bail of 3 million yet."
