Zguladze might head National Police, - Minister Avakov

The First Deputy Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Eka Zguladze might take charge of the new National Police.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the Interior Affairs Minister Arsen Avakov in an interview to Channel 24.

"We'll decide on this after three months. It will not be a fast decision. Because the transitional provision allows us to come up with candidates within three months of the transition period from the old police to the new one. In my opinion, it would be logical if Eka Zguladze takes the office, but there are some other points, such as her wish or the need to use her skills for the rest of the reform. We are discussing this issue," he said.

"The decision on the police administration will be taken when we understand the word "militsiia" (former police - ed.) is not used anymore," the minister said.
