3 million hryvnias is nothing for corrupt prosecutors. PGO demanded 20-million bail, - Sakvarelidze

The Prosecutor General's Office demanded to arrest the corrupt prosecutors setting a 20-million hryvnias bail for them. Instead, the court set a bail at 3 million hryvnias.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the Deputy Prosecutor Davit Sakvarelidze on his Facebook page.

"I want to announce to everyone: the prosecutor's office insisted on the restraint measure against all three defendants in the last case in the form of their remand or, as the law requires, a bail of 20 million hryvnias for each of them. At the same time, the court ruled absolutely unfounded and senseless decision - a bail of 3 million hryvnias for each detainee, which is certainly nothing for the people of such rank!" he says.

"Unfortunately, some judges continue to persistently and blatantly ignore the will of the people and the changes occurring in the new Ukrainian state. Today the corrupt officials are once again given an opportunity to be released on bail being a small part of what they have stolen" Sakvarelidze outrages.

"'Steal a million, pay a tithe, and sleep fine' principle must cease to exist - it is destructive for the country! To my deep regret, now it continues to be used in most cases. But we are not scared: the important thing is the process has got off the ground. The fake judges and extortionists can't stop it. We will not stop half-way and will continue to work hard to make all the corrupt suffer punishment they deserve!" he concludes.
