"I believe that the joint operation of the SBU and the Prosecutor General's Office General Inspectorate (similar to Internal Security Department - Ed.) showed that we are not going to shelf the fight against corruption. Corruption is number one threat to the national security. I was asked whether I was ready to counter corruption at the meeting with parliamentary factions before the appointment and I said that the deputies and all the officials are the ones who should prepare themselves when the fight against corruption actually begins. It was one of the hardest days in my life yesterday. That day I finished work at 5 a.m. Then there were quite a lot of the sticky conversations. I want to appeal to our investigators and operatives, whose eyes kindled with righteousness: remember one thing - you will be never set up. I bear all the responsibility and I will provide all the necessary sanctions. Those who commit crimes of corruption are the ones who should be afraid of consequences but not those who solve these cases. We deal with senior officials and there will be no order to stop," he said.
