President Poroshenko ordered law enforcers to stop covering for amber mining

President Petro Poroshenko ordered Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to stop covering for illegal amber mining within two weeks. The mining is blooming in the Rivne, Volyn, and Zhytomyr regions.

He said this during his meeting with law enforces in Lviv on Thursday, after report by deputy Interior Minister Oleksii Rudenko, Censor.NET reports citing lb.ua.

"I can say that no section or cartel works without police cover, prosecutor's cover, SBU cover, and local administration cover. This is how brilliantly our authorities cooperate and coordinate. Police is the leader," Poroshenko said.

President promised he would arrive to one of the amber-mining regions, Rivne, Zhytomyr or Volyn, without his cortege, and "would show you who's covering up there. If you provoke the president to do so, I will do so. You have two weeks," Poroshenko said.
