 New constitutional draft provides for preserving Crimea’s autonomy, Poroshenko says

The new draft Constitution of Ukraine retains the autonomous status of Crimea and Sevastopol.

The president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, said today during the presentation of the draft amendments to the Constitution in terms of decentralization, Censor.NET informs.

"The first entry, the autonomy of Crimea is explicitly stated in the existing Constitution. It provides a broad mandate. That mandate of Crimea and Sevastopol will be saved," the president said.

He also expressed confidence that the problem of the occupation of Crimea will be solved through diplomatic channels and the peninsula will be a part of Ukraine again.
