 Situation near Mariupol worsens: Enemy uses powerful howitzers and portable Grad systems, - ATO press center

Yesterday, June 24, after a relative lull during the day in the ATO area, the militants of the hybrid pro-Russian gangs significantly intensified their activity along the demarcation line in the evening.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing the ATO press center.

According to the HQ, from evening until midnight the militants opened fired at the positions of Ukrainian troops more than 30 times.

"The most complicated situation is near Mariupol. Our positions near Shyrokyne and Talakivka were fired at from high-power 152-mm howitzers. Berdiansk was hit by the enemy's 122-mm artillery systems. In addition, Shyrokyne came under fire from small arms, grenade launchers and portable version of Grad MLRS," the report says.

It is also noted that Pisky and Opytne not far from Donetsk were attacked by militants using 120-mm mortars and incendiary mines.

"Heavy mortars also hit Leninske and Kirove in Artemivsk area and Shchastia and Stanytsia Luhanska in the Luhansk region. 43 cases of enemy using weapons were recorded over the past day," the headquarters reported.

Today Kremlin's mercenaries fired at the positions of Ukrainian troops six times. Shyrokyne was attacked by 120-mm mortars and Krasnohorivka and Berdiansk with the use of small arms and rocket-propelled grenades.
