According to the organizers, the proposal is discussed at the moment as the demonstrators want to resolve the issue in a general manner.
The city police put forward similar demands the day before proposing to delegate three people to negotiate.
It was reported earlier that the protesters on Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan began a sit-down strike.
Interfax-Ukraine reports that the participants of the strike in the center of Yerevan on Baghramyan Avenue, who are protesting against the authorities' decision to raise electricity tariffs, has built barricades from litter-boxes in front of the police rows. "We are creating our own defense line. We do not show aggression. Our only aim is to ensure the safety of the sit-down strike," participant of the strike Ishkhan Khosrovyan told journalists.
Meanwhile, the Armenian police urged protesters to remove litter-boxes from the central square. "You have to take the litter-boxes away as their deployment here is prohibited by the law," Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Colonel Valery Osipyan said using the loudspeaker.
He also noted that the police are not going to take any action, "while the meeting is peaceful." "But there are provocateurs among you who are armed with stones and other items. We are asking to make them away otherwise the whole responsibility will be borne by the coordination group," Osipyan said.
The rally was organized by the civil movement 'Against robbery'. This movement mainly consists of young people not related to any political and social forces.
