 Poroshenko on abolishing immunity: I would like the parliament to support the bill in this session

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hopes that the Verkhovna Rada will adopt a bill on the abolition of parliamentary immunity in the first reading in the course of this session.

He stated this today during a meeting with heads of law enforcement agencies, Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the head of state.

Poroshenko reminded that the Constitutional Court published its decision regarding the draft law on the abolition of parliamentary immunity and limitation of judicial immunity today. The president noted: "I would like the Parliament to vote for respective amendments to the Constitution at this session".

"Thus, we will stop discussions that criminals go to the Parliament to avoid liability. There will be no more discussions about the ways suspects leave the country using their immunity.
