"Yesterday during the inspection of the territory adjacent to the demarcation line a border operative-search group, together with employees of the SBU found more than 70 shells. The ammunition was found in an abandoned building, which was located in the forest belt between Berezove and Novotroitske of the Donetsk region. The cache contained 74 152-mm shells. 21 boxes with two projectile each, 32 projectiles separate, and 12 fuses to the above mentioned projectiles," the Border Guard press service noted.
"According to the Security Service of Ukraine boxes of ammunition of 152-mm caliber were found on the Mariupol - Donetsk highway in the area of turn towards the town of Dokuchaivsk. Investigative team of Volnovakha police and employees of the Emergency Situations Ministry were dispatched to the scene. Over 20 boxes of ammunition in the forest belt under a pile of dry twigs. In total 57 projectiles of 152-mm caliber were seized," the Interior Ministry reported.
"Criminal proceedings under pt. 1, Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition and explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been initiated. The confiscated ammunition was forwarded for a corresponding expert analysis," Volodymyr Maiboros, Head of Volnovakha district police stated.
