It was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraina
A group of 50 people pelted a Ukrainian Consulate in the city of Rostov-on-Don with eggs, stones, tomatoes and paint overnight into Saturday morning. No-one was present in the building at the time.
Ukrainian consul in Rostov said that the consulate may need to be closed for several days as many windows had been broken and office equipment damaged. "We demand from the Russian authorities an immediate comprehensive investigation, strict punishment of those responsible and compensation for material damage," the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reads.
"LifeNews and Cannel One TV crews were spotted on the scene f ive minutes before the attack," the Ministry press service informed.
Friday was a public holiday in Russia, when many people took to the streets to celebrate. Russian media reported that in Moscow 450,000 people had participated in public events to mark the holiday.
