 Four police officers, who allegedly distributed weapons to paid protesters during Euromaidan, detained, - Avakov

Four police operatives, who are suspected of illegal evacuation of weapons from Interior Ministry's storage and its distribution to the so-called 'titushkas' (paid pro-government protesters - ed.) for use against peaceful protesters during Euromaidan events, have been detained.

More than 400 Kalashnikov guns were evacuated from the Ministry's warehouses and distributed among illegal gangs under order of then-minister Oleksandr Zakharchenko. This was announced by the Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"Four employees of the Interior Ministry were arrested yesterday and today in joint operation by the General Prosecution and criminal investigation department of the Ministry, including one former operative, Major of a unit, who was directly involved in evacuation of the Kalashnikovs from a Ministry's warehouse and distributed them among illegal gangs," Avakov said at the Cabinet meeting in Kyiv on Fridfay.
