 Poroshenko appointed Zhebrivskyi governor of the Donetsk region

President Petro Poroshenko dismissed Oleksandr Kikhtenko from the position of the chairman of the Donetsk military-civilian administration and appointed Pavlo Zhebrivskyi to this post.

He said during his speech in Mariupol in the Donetsk region, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.

Zhebrivskyi was born March 21, 1962 in the village of Nemyryntsi in the Ruzhyn district of the Zhytomyr region.

He graduated from Kyiv Shevchenko University in 1989.

He worked at concrete structures factory in Kyiv in 1979-1982.

He served as a policeman in patrol and guard service, police investigator, and senior police investigator in the Department of Internal Affairs in Kyiv from 1983 till 1991, and was engaged in entrepreneurial activity after that.

He occupied the position of the head of the Zhytomyr Region State Administration from April to December 2005.

He was the Verkhovna Rada deputy of the fourth, fifth, and sixth convocations as the member of the Nasha Ukraina bloc.

He has been serving as head of the General Prosecutor's Office Department to investigate corruption offenses committed by senior officials since January 2015.

Kikhtenko has been serving as chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration since October 2014.

Kikhtenko became chairman of the Donetsk military-civilian administration after it was created in March 2015.
