Kyiv is expecting U.S. investments and supplies of lethal defensive weapons to Ukraine.

As reported by Censor.NET, Ukraine's government head Arsenii Yatseniuk said this to CNN during his visit to the United States.

The best message to Putin, the PM said, is to show that Ukraine is a successful and prosperous European country supported by the U.S. Yatseniuk pointed out that Ukraine did not expect American military to come to Ukraine for its protection, but they did expect U.S. business presence with investments, he said adding that American investors will become another shield in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian prime minister sounded a note of warning that the Kremlin's efforts to crack the West's unity towards Ukraine-Russia conflict might be successful.

As of now, Yatseniuk said, Moscow has not succeeded, but this might happen, he said adding that he hoped for further cooperation between the U.S. and the EU against Putin's regime.

"The United States is a country of real democracy, of real freedoms and liberties. So you are to defend the world, you are to protect the world, and you are to support Ukraine, as we stick to the same values and to the same ideas," Yatseniuk stressed.

As for the Minsk agreements, the government head does not see another alternative to them and believes them to be the most adequate way to deescalate the situation in Donbas.

"But in order to make this solution viable and in order to implement the Minsk deal, we need to underpin diplomatic efforts with strong durable Ukrainian military", Yatseniuk said.

Washington's decision to send paratroopers to train Ukrainian military and supply technical communication devices to the Army is not enough, the PM said.

Yatseniuk believes that the U.S. is supposed to support Kyiv "in its fight with the regular Russian army." This can be done by military supplies as well, the prime minister said.

However, he said, Ukraine needs more, including first of all defensive weapons to oppose Russia. Moscow supplies terrorists with hundreds of tanks, cannons, modern artillery. There are more that 10,000 Russian soldiers on Ukraine's soil, Yatseniuk said, and 30,000 terrorists led by Russia and trained by FSB. This is a threat to the U.S., the EU and the world order, the PM added.

During his visit to the U.S., PM Yatseniuk met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew on June 9.
