If there is evidence of connection of Maidan protest organizers with Russian special services, Security Service of Ukraine must publish them, - Butusov

майдан

The Security Service of Ukraine must make public evidences of connection of activists who organized the so-called "third Maidan" with foreign special services. Because no precedent should be created in Ukraine that makes it possible to disperse any mass action unpunished without giving reason for that. Since the incident had resonance in the public, it should be reacted to publicly, not undercover.

Yurii Butusov, Editor-in-Chief of Censor.NET, posted on his Facebook page.

"I was waiting for an official information from the Security Service, and it came. But I have to say that it is absolutely insufficient. If there is evidence of connection of the event organizer with Russian special services then, please, give it to us. If weapons have been found - show it, please. If there are reasons for detention of citizens - they should be published. We are no small children here. It is not an option. It is OBLIGATION of the Security Service. It's not about the action itself. No precedent should be created in Ukraine that makes it possible to disperse any mass action unpunished without giving reason for that," he wrote.

"I don't know who went out to Maidan. I don't know their purposes. But I'm sure that the state respects and defends the right to protest of people I do not know with multicolored flags of LGBT, it must protect the right to protest of people I do not know with Ukrainian flags. I was surprised when the whole Kyiv was full of banners with a slogan "Learn to pronounce "gay" in a correct way", but I don't criticize that because I respect the right of other people to self-outing. Although personally I think that these banners in such a quantity and at unknown cost is also someone's game," the journalist pointed out.

"Those who put some tents on the Maidan had no banners. Yes, I do not exclude that that was someone's task. But the citizens went out to the Maidan. And let some foreigner be among them. What illegal thing they wanted there?" Butusov added.

"When I ask the high rank persons why the authorities do not react to free distribution of Vesti newspaper, I hear the argument of democracy, freedom of press and impossibility to to suppress human rights. And herewith some people were arrested for far lesser faults and without questions and publicly, in Kyiv downtown. If they deliberately or non-deliberately worked for Russian media picture, SBU must tell this and publish the proof," the journalist emphasized .
