Firtash should be prosecuted in the United States, Yatseniuk says

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk is convinced that Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, whose case is investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, should be prosecuted in the United States.

Prime Minister of Ukraine said in his speech in the influential analytical center Atlantic Council in Washington, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"We have completely revised the system of the energy sector. We have got rid of the oligarchs and intermediaries, who existed in the Ukrainian Naftogaz like vampires. This also concerns Mr. Firtash, who is under the FBI investigation. And we are convinced that this Ukrainian oligarch has to be brought to justice in the United States," Yatseniuk said.

He noted that the Ukrainian government "is making every effort to fight corruption either at the highest level and at the levels of inspectors, customs officers, police officers, prosecutors, judges."

According to him, all these measures are envisaged by a comprehensive agenda of the anti-corruption program.
