 Visa regime with Japan will be simplified

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting today with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

Shinzo Abe and Petro Poroshenko have discussed ways to simplify visa regime for Ukrainian citizens traveling to Japan and agreed that we would carry out important steps in this direction in the near future, Censor.NET reports citing the presidential press service

"We have also substantively discussed ways to simplify visa regime for Ukrainian citizens traveling to Japan and agreed that we would carry out important steps in this direction in the near future," the president said.

During today's meeting Shinzo Abe and Petro Poroshenko have also discussed the expectations from the G7 summit, which will start tomorrow in Germany. "I am glad to note that Japan is determined to actively assist Ukraine in the implementation of important internal reforms during its presidency in G7 next year. I am also grateful to Japan for providing credit guarantees in the amount of USD 1.5 billion, which will help us ensure stability of the financial system of Ukraine," Poroshenko said.

The effectiveness of Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation in the field of green investments is proved by the successful implementation of the project on the provision of more than 1,500 cars with ecological engines for the Ukrainian law enforcers by Japan.

"We highly appreciate the achieved high level of relations with Japan. I can emphasize that Ukraine and Japan have never had such a high level of cooperation," the president summarizes.
