 Number of killed in Donbas totaled 6,300 people, - UN

According to United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, 6,362 persons were killed in the Donbas since the beginning of the war.

Censor.NET reports citing the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights report.

"In total, since the beginning of the hostilities in mid-April 2014 until May 15, 2015, at least 6,362 people (including at least 625 women and girls) were documented as killed and 15,775 as wounded in the conflict area of eastern Ukraine. Many people remain missing," the report reads.

The UN also noted "overall decrease in indiscriminate shelling of populated areas after Feb. 15."

The report also reads that in t
he hostilities have had a devastating impact on the overall enjoyment of human rights by an estimated five million people living in the area." The number of internally displaced persons reached 1.2 million people, the UN estimated.
