At the same time, the prosecutor general noted that consideration of this issue by the committee is a procedural one.

According to him, if the committee members want to receive detailed explanations on the sufficiency of the prosecutor's submissions, this will turn the meeting into the pre-trial investigation.

Viktor Shokin noted that in this case there will be the need for the committee members to give written consent of secrecy of the investigation and it will be necessary to hold the meeting of the committee behind the closed doors due to the fact that the pre-trial investigation of the criminal case is underway and "will last for an indefinite period".

In turn, Serhii Kliuiev, who was present at the meeting, insisted on holding of the open meeting of the committee with the participation of the media.

Speaking of the crimes which Serhii Melnichuk is suspected of, the prosecutor general noted that it will take the whole meeting to list all the articles of the Criminal Code, which he is charged under. However, according to Shokin, the main crime that the former Aidar battalion commander is charged of is the creation of a criminal organization.
