Effective June 1, 2015 assignments of special pensions to deputies, ministers, judges, prosecutors, customs officers, fiscal officers and other civil servants will be stopped.

Minister of Social Policy Pavlo Rozenko said to "24" TV Channel, Censor.NET reports with reference to the press service of the medium.

"According to the Law of Ukraine "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on pension" dated March 2, 2015, the Pension Fund stops assignments of special pensions to deputies, ministers, judges, prosecutors, customs officers, fiscal officers and other civil servants. Nobody will be able to delay that stop. This is a principled position of myself as Social Policy Minister and the government in general," he said.

Rozenko reminded that the Law of Ukraine adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in March foresaw that the government should provide an appropriate package of laws on pension reform before May 1, and if the Parliament does not adopt it until June 1, the system of special pensions will stop existing in Ukraine. "We've observed that law provision and submitted a systemic pension reform to the parliament, which has not been considered and adopted till now, unfortunately," the Minister said.

"That is why, as of June 1, 2015, the Pension Fund of Ukraine will stop assigning pensions according to special laws. Effective June, pensions of deputies, ministers, judges, prosecutors, customs officers, fiscal officers and other civil servants will be assigned according to the law of Ukraine "On obligatory general state pension insurance" as for all ordinary people," Rozenko stressed and noted that this provision does not cover scientists and military servicemen.

"We will gladly observe that law provision. This is our principled position. There will be no compromises on further existing of that shameful system of VIP pensions," he said.
