In January-April 2015 the amount of public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine in hryvnia increased by 316.604 billion hryvnia, while in dollar terms the public and publicly guaranteed debt decreased by 2.465 billion dollars. "The main reason for these changes is the devaluation of the national currency, whose rate to the dollar rose from around 15.77 UAH/USD at the end of 2014 to about 21.05 UAH/USD in late April 2015," the press-service stated.
