 Parubii expects to implement joint projects with NATO on training of Ukrainian soldiers

First Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii expects the implementation of joint projects of Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on training of the Ukrainian soldiers.

He said this while meeting with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Terry Stamatopoulos, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.

Parubii has also assured Stamatopoulos that Ukraine is ready to restore the strategic course towards the Euro-Atlantic integration.

The first vice-speaker also stressed that the efficiency of reforms in Ukraine's security and defense sector stands upon the efficiency of the parliament's work and the quality of the laws passed by Rada while the country's legislation should accelerate the process of enhancing cooperation with NATO.

In turn, the NATO Assistant Secretary General said that the organization is ready to provide assistance to Ukraine in reforming of its security and defense sector and assured that the Alliance will use all available tools and partnership mechanisms to provide support.

According to the report, the interlocutors confirmed the prospects of cooperation in the Ukraine - NATO format and noted the need to improve the collective security system in Europe taking in consideration Russia's aggressive and provocative actions.

As reported earlier, Stamatopoulos urged the NATO countries to provide bilateral support to Ukraine.

It should be reminded that the Alliance is going to help Ukraine with mine-sweeping of its territories.
