 A man shot two people dead and took two hostages in Kharkiv region - Interior Ministry

A resident of Liubotyn city in the Kharkiv region killed two people from a carbine and seized two hostages in the Kharkiv region. One more person was wounded.

Censor.NET reports citing the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The report reads that the district police department call center received information about the incident at 2:00 p.m. today, May 25.

According to preliminary data, an unidentified person opened fire presumably from Saiga carbin in Liubotyn city. Two people were killed and one was wounded as a result.

The attacker was a 48-year-old local resident.

After having committed the offense, the man drove to the village of Korotych by his car (VAZ-21099) where he has taken two hostages at a gas station.

The police officers are currently negotiating with the man to release the hostages and take measures to apprehend the attacker.
