Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Valerii Chalyi said on Channel 5, Censor.NET reports.
"In fact, it is not a technological issue. It is important for Ukraine to comply with the technical aspects, but there also is a political issue. It is about the annexation of the territory of Ukraine and control over a specific database, which could have been captured, particularly, in Donetsk and Luhansk. There is a new situation when the European Union said that it cannot now monitor if these moments are not used to enter the European Union illegally," Chalyi said.
According to him, the problem was that the European partners have changed the conditions.
"Our position was the following: sorry, but the repeating introduction of new conditions and the war as an explanation of the impossibility of Ukrainians to travel do not suit us. We defended our position and now we have a very clear knowledge that review of the implementation of Ukrainian obligations should take place until the end of 2015. Immediately after that the decision on visa-free regime for Ukrainians should be granted," he stressed.
