 Parliament denounced number of military agreements with Russian Federation

The Verkhovna Rada endorsed denunciation of five agreements with Russia in the military sector.

265, 261, 264, 268, 272 deputies have voted for the adoption of the bills #0015, 0016, 0017, 0018, and 0019 as a whole respectively, at the 226 votes required, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.

The intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on transit of the Russian military units temporarily deployed on the territory of Moldova through the territory of Ukraine was among these documents.

The agreement was signed November 25, 1995 in Sochi (Russia) and ratified by the Rada on Dec. 4, 1998.

The other agreements that have been denounced are:

- the intergovernmental agreement on mutual protection of classified information, signed Dec. 2, 2000 in Moscow (Russia) and ratified by the Rada Nov. 15, 2001.

- the intergovernmental agreement on the organization of interstate military transportation and payment for them, signed Nov. 25, 1995 in Sochi (Russia) and ratified by the Rada Sept. 12, 2002.

- the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of military intelligence, signed Aug. 26, 1997 and ratified by the Rada in Kyiv Feb. 7, 2002.

- the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the military sector, signed on Nov. 25, 1995 in Sochi (Russia) and ratified by the Rada Jan. 10, 2002.

It is expected that implementation of the provisions of the bill will eliminate the direct threat to the national security and territorial integrity of Ukraine which the actual fulfillment of the conditions of these agreements carries.
