 Shyrokyne fighting resulted in three terrorists killed, six wounded - Azov regiment

The fighting in Shyrokyne, near Mariupol, the Donetsk region, lasted for more than three hours yesterday. The terrorists' attack was repulsed, they incurred losses. In the morning Thursday the separatists shelled the Ukrainian army's positions near Mariupol three times.

This was announced by the Azov regiment press service, Censor.NET reports citing 0629.com.ua.

On May 20, the military gangs of the 'DPR' have continued their provocations all day long after their morning shelling. During the day, the terrorists fired at the Azov regiment positions with an automatic grenade launcher.

"At 4:30 p.m. 'DPR' formations used a tank to make several shots. Under its cover, the enemy's infantry attempted to break through the Azov defense. In a contact combat, the terrorists were using mortars, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms. Azov soldiers responded with machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, and small arms. The active phase of the battle lasted for more than three hours. During the period, the terrorists lost at least three soldiers killed and six wounded. Azov regiment lost a vehicle. Fortunately, the crew of the vehicle was not hurt," the Azov's press service noted.

"The attack was repulsed," Azov press service added.

According to the M sector press officer Dmytro Horbunov, terrorists shelled the ATO positions in Shyrokyne 16 times yesterday. "DPR" militants used 122-mm artillery once, 82-mm mortars three times, small arms 11 times, and a tank once.

The number of drones has increased significantly. Between 10 and 11:30 p.m. there were 11 drone flights recorded over ATO positions and the seaside.

Today, the 'DPR' gangs shelled Ukrainian soldiers three times. Two events of shelling were conducted with grenade launchers, one with an 82-mm mortar.

The mortar fire has been returned, the firing point was suppressed. No one was hurt in the Ukrainian army.
