According to Makieieva, there are 284,200 self-employed individuals registered totally as of Jan. 1, 2015. There are three groups of the single tax payers, however, 66% of them receive income from legal entities via bank transfers and do not have to use cash registers. "According to our information, only 96.7 thousand individuals, the taxpayers of the third group, are required to use cash registers," she said.
Department of methodological work on taxation of the State Fiscal Service Director Nelia Pryvalova reminded that the requirement for compulsory use of cash registers applies to a single tax payers of the third group from July 1, 2015, and from Jan. 1 2016 this requirement will also be valid for entrepreneurs who are single tax payers of the second group.
According to Pryvalova, the increase of the number of entrepreneurs using cash registers will reduce the number of infringing merchandise. "It is the off-the-books economy share which we want to get rid of while the use of cash registers will help us in that," she said.
Pryvalova noted that 4,000 entrepreneurs of the third group have already registered their cash registers in the State Fiscal Service bodies and about 10,000 businessmen have ordered the equipment from the manufacturers.
According to her, the State Fiscal Service will not penalize taxpayers, who do not manage to install cash registers until July 1 but have a contract for their purchase by that time.
