 Number of Russian soldiers in Ukraine varies between four and 14 thousand - Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko noted that Russian soldiers in Ukraine are a proven fact, and their number varies between four and 14 thousand persons.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"The fact of Russian soldiers' presence on our territory has been proven many times, and usually
there are four to 14 Russian regular troops on the territory of Ukraine," - he said at a joint press conference with Slovak President Kiska in Kyiv on Wednesday.


"This data not only Ukrainian, they include the data of intelligence for NATO countries and other sources; we have the facts of crossing of our border, which are fixed by satellites," the head of state added.

At the same time, Poroshenko noted that it is not just about the number of Russian troops, but also about significant number of modern weapons, "including rockets and anti-aircraft-missile complexes."

"In order to have peace, Minsk Agreements need to be fulfilled. In particular, the paragraph which stresses the need for the overlap of the border not controlled by Ukraine and the removal of all Russian troops from our territory," he stressed.


"It is important that Russian troops take away all production of the Russian" military trade" : tanks, missiles, air defense systems, electronic warfare systems, most advanced types of weapons that are being tested right now on the people of Ukraine", the head of the Ukrainian state stressed.

Poroshenko said that the Russian authorities regularly claimed that lethal weapons supplies to Ukraine would lead to an escalation of tension in the region, but "Russia delivers the most modern weapons to its troops and it-controlled rebels daily," Poroshenko said.
