The story with the Russian servicemen captured in the Luhansk region caused quite a stir at the General Staff of the Russian Federation. Russian security officials are " looking for a way out of this situation through all available channels."

This is stated by Russian newspaper Kommersant, Censor.NET reports.

The newspaper's source in the operational military administration said that they are currently "looking for a way out of this situation through all available channels." It is possible that separate talks on the subject will be held at the level of the general staffs of the two countries, Kommersant notes.

Earlier, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that the ministry expects the release of the detained Russian citizens in Ukraine, noting that the detainees Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov are "former" Russian servicemen.

Ukrainian soldiers captured Russian servicemen on May 17, as a result of a fight near Shchastia .

Head of the SBU Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said that the detained Russian servicemen are not subject for exchange. During the detainment they killed a Ukrainian soldier and SBU officers and they will be prosecuted.
