The report reads: "The border squad was patrolling its area of responsibility on an armored vehicle following the designated route when the Ukrainian servicemen spotted the subversive and reconnaissance group of militants consisting of up to 10 people moving from the direction of Horlivka. The saboteurs were moving at a distance of 1 km from the demarcation line. The militants opened fire at the border patrol unit when they realized that they had been exposed. The border guards took up position and engaged. The reserve unit and the Armed Forces soldiers came to their aid after a while.
"The plans to commit acts of sabotage were disrupted due to the coordinated actions of the Ukrainian military. The group of Russian mercenaries was forced to retreat. Two representatives of illegal armed groups were killed during the engagement and the weapons of the enemy were found on the battlefield. The rocket launcher, five TNT blocks, and blasting fuze were seized from the militants. Two Ukrainian soldiers were injured during the battle," the summary reads.
