Requiem commemoration on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the deportation of Crimean Tatars in Kyiv was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.

Head of the ministry Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu confirmed that the annexation of Crimea is not recognized by his country, Censor.NET reports citing Zerkalo Nedeli.

"We never recognized and never will recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea," he said in Kyiv during the requiem on the occasion of the Crimean Tatars deportation 71st anniversary.

According to him, Turkey will continue to monitor the situation in Crimea and help the Crimean Tatars. "Our presence here is a clear indication that the Turkish and Ukrainian people have always been together with the Crimean Tatars," Çavuşoğlu said.

In March, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan while on a visit to Kyiv promised to support the Crimean Tatar people at the international level.
