 409 km of state border is out of Ukraine's control in Donbas - State Border Service

Ukraine does not have control over 409 km of its state border with Russia within the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as of today.

This was announced by press-secretary of the State Border Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodian on air of 5 Channel, Censor.NET reports.

"Regarding the border that we have no control over at the moment, these are 409.3 km within the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Slobodian said.

According to him, a Ukrainian commission is currently working at the border point 'Donetsk', which commission includes custom officers and border guards. Slobodian said that the commission's working conditions are quite difficult.

At the same time, the press officer noted that the State Border Service of Ukraine has a clear task from the president of Ukraine to regain control over the state border by the end of the year. "Of course, not everything depends on the State Border Service, because this is a matter of international level. However, we use maximum efforts on our part," he added.
