Kerry calls on Russia to release Savchenko

The United States of America advocates liberation of Ukrainian pilot, the Verkhovna Rada deputy and member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Nadiya Savchenko, who has been held in custody by the Russian Federation for 10 months already.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry stated at a briefing after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Sochi, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that the U.S. would like all the political prisoners such as Nadiya Savchenko to be released and there should be a possibility for loads, including humanitarian aid of the Red Cross, to be delivered to Ukraine. He expressed belief that these steps should be made quickly while they play significant role in the quality of life in the Donbas.
