The ministry reminded that the official website of the OSCE SMM published information from which it follows that the mission monitors recorded a total of 413 shots from various weapons in the area of Shyrokyne in the Donetsk region on April 26, which were allegedly conducted by the armed forces of Ukraine towards the territory controlled by illegal armed groups.
Over the same period of time in the territory controlled by Ukraine, the OSCE SMM observers recorded only 2 explosions from artillery shells of 122-mm caliber on the eastern outskirts of the Berdianske village of the Donetsk region.
"The Command of the ATO HQ official states that the data released by the OSCE SMM does not correspond to information on firing in the Ukraine-controlled territories that was recorded by the ATO HQ in sector M," the statement notes.
It is stressed that in total, there were 17 cases of opening fire on the Ukrainian armed forces' positions over the said 24 hours, in response to which Ukrainian units opened fire eight times.
"This information is indirectly confirmed by data by the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the cease-fire and stabilization of the demarcation line obtained from representatives of individual areas of the Donetsk region, who have been monitoring the cease-fire at the observation post. The ATO command considers that instances of the OSCE SMM spreading misleading and incomplete information are unacceptable, and underlines the need for an early decision on installing of the OSCE SMM web cameras for surveillance in the hottest spots along the line of contact," the statement concluded.
