 Use of 120-mm arms at Donetsk airport increases, OSCE Mission says

Special monitoring mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) reports increase in the use of arms of 120 mm caliber near the Donetsk airport.

This is stated in the daily report of the Mission for April 27, Censor.NET reports.

"The security situation in the area around Donetsk airport ("DPR"-controlled, 11 km north-west of Donetsk) has seriously deteriorated whereas in the Luhansk region the SMM observed no incidents involving the use of weapons."

"From the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) observation post at Donetsk railway station ("DPR"-controlled, 8 km north-west of Donetsk), the SMM heard a total of 550 explosions from the north-east, north-north-east, north-west and west, at a distance of one to six kilometers from its position. The SMM assessed that approximately 90% of all the explosions were caused by 120-mm mortar and heavy artillery rounds. The number of violations in this area has increased sharply compared to the violations recorded in the previous days," the reports concludes.
