 Militants committed 20 attacks on military positions since midnight - ATO press center

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation area remained relatively calm on April 23.

Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center's situation report.

The report reads: "The illegal armed groups conducted 20 assaults on the Ukrainian troops' positions from midnight to 6 p.m., mostly using small arms and mortars. The criminals committed five artillery strikes from 120-mm mortars and two more from artillery systems of 122-mm caliber in the Donetsk region, flagrantly having violated the Minsk agreements once again. The ATO forces positions nears the villages of Shyrokyne, Pisky, Avdiivka and Kurdiumovka were shelled from heavy artillery.

"The gangs also opened fire on Ukrainian strong points near the villages of Opytne, Kirove and Leninske from mortars, anti-tank missile system, automatic grenade launchers, machine guns, sniper rifles and small arms. There were no assaults on positions of our troops in the Luhansk region recorded during this period. At the same time, our detachments recorded six flights of unmanned aerial vehicles near Mariupol at night and in the morning," the summary reads.
