Greek Ambassador called Greek Minister’s statement on Crimea in Moscow a fake of Russian media – Ukrainian Foreign Ministry

The Foreign Ministry of Greece refuted the statement of Minister of Defense Panos Kammenos about "the fascist government of Ukraine", which allegedly infringes the rights of Greek families in Crimea.

This was announced by Speaker of Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Perebyinis, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"We have obtained assurances from the Ambassador of Greece to Ukraine that the information about the statements of the Minister of Defense of Greece on Ukraine, which was published in the Russian newspaper Gazeta.ru is untrue. According to the Ambassador, such statements were not made and this is another fake spread by the Russian propaganda," he said.

According to Perebyinis, the Ambassador of Greece stressed that the government's official position remains unchanged - Greece condemns Russia's occupation of Crimea. It was demonstrated by Greece's support of a number of the EU's statements as well as confirmed by the Greek Foreign Minister during his visit to Kyiv.
