 Militants keep violating truce by mortar strikes - ATO press center

The illegal armed groups did not cease committing armed provocations in the area of anti-terrorist operation April 17. The criminals had committed 24 attacks totally on Ukrainian troops’ positions along the demarcation line from midnight using mortars mainly.

Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center situation report.

The summary reads: "The enemy shelled the strong points near the villages of Pisky, Mykolaivka, Avdiivka, and Hranitne in the Donetsk region from 120-mm mortars. The positions of the ATO forces not far from Avdiivka alone were shelled by the criminals six times from 120-mm mortars. Besides, the enemy shelled our positions near Avdiivka from tanks, anti-aircraft guns, automatic grenade launchers, and was using 122-millimeter caliber artillery from 5 p.m. to 5:24 p.m."

"The Russian-terrorist forces also shelled our stronghold near the village of Leninske in the Donetsk region from 120-millimeter mortars, tanks, automatic grenade launchers and anti-tank weapons," the report reads.

The ATO press center noted: "The enemy committed mortar attack on our positions near the villages of Shchastia and Syze in the Luhansk region. In addition, the positions near the village of Krymske were shelled from automatic grenade launchers."

"Once again, the enemy resorted to the shelling of civilians. The gangs were shelling Hranitne village in the Donetsk region using 120-mm mortars from 10:40 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. and fired at Pisky village from small arms," the ATO press center summed up.
