"Maybe someone forgot that we have spent $1 billion for supplies of gas and power to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and received zero in return. They did not pay the bills thus we had to do it so that the people did not freeze to death, because there were Ukrainian citizens," Yatseniuk said.
In addition, the prime minister stressed that Ukraine's budget does not get "a single penny" from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. At the same time, the government has paid 15 billion hryvnia ($650,000,000) of pensions from the budget.
Yatseniuk also reminded that 1.1 million of temporarily displaced persons require granting of social benefits.
