Atlasjet Ukraine responded to the invitation of the Ministry of Infrastructure: Danylo Halytskyi Lviv airport will be the base of the carrier.

By early summer Ukrainian member airline of the Turkish Atlasjet will start operating international and domestic flights from Lviv and other Ukrainian cities. In addition to regular flights, the carrier plans charter flights to popular resorts in Turkey, Montenegro and Egypt, Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Cabinet.

The company's management has confirmed its willingness and ability to carry out regular flights to about 30 destinations in Europe, the CIS countries, and the Caucasus, including Italy, Spain, Georgia, and others popular countries with Ukrainians. In addition to international flights, the carrier will perform domestic flights between Lviv, Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv.

Atlasjet Ukraine will start flights on four Airbus 320, gradually increasing the fleet to 15 new aircraft. Today, the company will submit the necessary documents to obtain permits for charter flights from Lviv, Kyiv, and Odesa to the State Aviation Service (SAS), which is to promptly process them. The carrier also determined priority routes and will submit a request to the SAS for priority regular flights. In turn, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the State Aviation Service are conducting the necessary work for the Atlasjet Ukraine to receive the appropriate destinations as soon as possible.

"A new player in the market based in Lviv will not only contribute to an increase in passenger traffic at the local airport, but will also enable the development of the western region as a tourist center. Moreover, it means additional investment and new jobs which will certainly contribute to the development of civil aviation and the country's economy as a whole. And for Ukrainians Atlasjet Ukraine flights will mean a wider choice of options in flying between the largest cities of the country and in planning of international air travel," Infrastructure Minister Andrii Pivovarskyi commented on the news.

After receiving appropriate route slots, the carrier will need up to 30 days to start its flights. Therefore, it is expected that the company will start ticket bookings for its first flights as early as in May.
