 ECHR postponed hearing of Ukraine's suit against Russia at the latter's request for six months

The European Court of Human Rights has postponed consideration of Ukraine's lawsuit against Russia at the request of the Russian Federation for six months until Sept. 25, 2015

This is stated by the court's press service, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.

"At the request of the Russian government, the court agreed to extend the deadline for the Government of the Russian Federation to provide objections as to the admissibility of two interstate suits submitted by the Government of Ukraine against the Russian Federation," the statement reads.

The first lawsuit against Russia was filed by Ukraine on March 13, 2014. It concerned the annexation of Crimea and Russia's participation in the Donbas conflict.

The second lawsuit against Russia by Ukraine was filed on June 13, 2014 regarding abduction of three groups of children in the Donbas and their temporary movement to Russia three times in the period from June to August 2014.

Russia was to provide its position on Ukraine's suit to the ECHR until March 25.
