 Russia has concentrated about 53,000 troops and 420 tanks on the border with Ukraine – ATO deputy commander

This figure does not include more than 31,000 troops of the so-called "Novorossia".

ATO Deputy Commander Colonel Valentyn Fedychev said in his daily comment, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.

"Russia remains a big 'barrack', and its existence is inseparable from constant unleashing of another war. The military group, which includes more than 53,000 troops, 420 tanks, up to 1920 armored combat vehicles, more than 500 units of artillery, nearly 200 MLRSes, more than 380 warplanes and nearly 130 attack helicopters is currently concentrated by the Russian Federation in the Rostov region in the close proximity to the Russian-Ukrainian border and in the occupied part of the Eastern Ukraine," Fedychev said.

According to the colonel, this figure does not include more than 31,000 troops of the so-called "Novorossia".

Fedychev also said that Russia does not prevent the arrangement of the "border" between the so-called "LPR" and the Russian Federation. "To carry out this "measure" that is actually cancels the role of Russia as one of the guarantors of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the so-called 'authorities' of the 'LPR' started to establish its own border guard service and equip two border crossing points - Dovzhanskyi and Krasnopartyzanskyi."
