Poroshenko called information about his offer to Putin to take the Donbas at Minsk talks an idiocy

President of Ukraine Poroshenko denied the information that he had proposed the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to take the Donbas during the talks in Minsk (Belarus) Feb. 12.

He said this at a briefing in Odesa, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"You know that this is definitely untrue. Why are you doing this?" the president resented in response to journalist's request to confirm or deny media reports that he had offered Putin to take Donbas.

Talking to reporters in Odesa, the president called the information idiocity, stating that it was confirmed neither by Vladimir Putin nor by his spokesman, lb.ua writes.

The day before, the Russian Forbes declared, citing a source, that Putin said about Poroshenko's proposal to "include Donbass" in the territory of the Russian Federation during the closed meeting with the Russian business.

Poroshenko also said during the visit to Odesa: "The Ukrainian Navy must be turned into a modern one compatible with the NATO ships."
