The situation in the anti-terrorist operation area escalated over the past day.

This is reported by Censor.NET citing the ATO press center.

"From 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. the illegal gangs conducted 21 fire attacks against the positions of our troops along the line of demarcation. The enemy has concentrated the most intense fire in the direction of the Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka, Pisky, Opytne, Shyrokyne in the Donetsk region, as well as in the area of Pavlopil and Hnutove in the Luhansk region," the report says.

According to the headquarters, during the attacks, the gangs used 120 mm mortars 12 times, which is yet another gross violation of the Minsk agreements by the Russian-terrorist forces. Furthermore, the enemy shelled the Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka using 122 mm cannons.

"In the evening, the criminals opened tank fire near Avdiivka and Pavlopil. However, there were no recorded attacks on towns and villages from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. on April 9," the press center noted.

At the same time, the enemy had significantly intensified aerial reconnaissance: "In the period from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. the Ukrainian troops saw UAVs near Shchastia, Bohdanivske, Shyrokyne, Mariupol, Slovianoserbsk, Starobilsk, Lysychansk and Teple."
