 OSCE: Humanitarian crisis unraveling In Donbas

A humanitarian disaster is unfolding in some towns and villages of Eastern Ukraine.

This was stated by representative of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Michael Bociurkiw today at a briefing in Kyiv, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

A humanitarian crisis occurs, it is unfolding in some places in Eastern Ukraine. And, according to OSCE partners in the United Nations, more than 6,000 people have been killed and over one million have left the place of residence, he said.

Bociurkiw noted that the OSCE was receiving reports of a sharp deterioration of conditions in many institutions, including hospitals, and this affects the situation with children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, adding that many villages, especially those located in the vicinity of the contact line, such as Spartak, Triokhizbenka, have no electricity, running water, are lacking vital food and basic necessities.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that about 200 people who have been living in a basement in Donetsk since August of last year.
